Found at Find Design Fair

Asia’s leading furniture, interiors and design event.

The Find - Design Fair Asia made its debut in Singapore over three days in late September 2022. I descended on Marina Bay Sands exhibition centre, not knowing what to expect but with high hopes. I was not disappointed. As an interior designer, it's exciting visiting trade and furniture fairs. I love discovering new products and making connections with a wide variety of suppliers and manufacturers.

The inaugural exhibition was organised by trade fair and exhibition organiser Fiera Milano (organisers of the world renowned Salone del Mobile exhibition) and DMG Events in partnership with Singapore Design Council and Singapore Tourism Board. More than 250 regional and international product designers, manufacturers and brands showcased interiors and furniture collections at the fair. Quite the turnout and many interesting products and designs to explore. Split into three areas, the show covered: the Italian Design Capsule, the Emerge exhibition for up and coming designers, and general interior products and services.

The Italian Design Capsule

A showcase honouring craftsmanship and creativity from Italy, the Italian Design Capsule pavilion was a collection of companies and emerging designers. Innovation, environmental impact and cultural exchange were the order of the day.

Ovo have taken the famous Moors of Caltagirone from Sicily and turned them in their head. A contemporary take on the traditional vases that have been made in Sicily for hundreds of years. Ovo  uses bright colours coupled with motifs taken from nature and the modern world. My favourites were the Vespa and the Fiat 500 heads - iconic pottery teamed with icons of Italian design.

The Emerge Exhibition

In partnership with Design Singapore, Emerge was an exhibition of rising designers from South East Asia, curated by Design Anthology editor-in-chief Suzy Annetta. Annetta used four pillars to pull the exhibition together. These themes were natural/local, salvage/waste, innovative/contemporary and unconventional. Many designers focused on reusing waste materials in new ways.

Interiors Brands and Products

The final section of Find Design Asia was a collection of interior products from suppliers in Singapore and beyond. Art, rugs, lighting, tiles, stone, wallpaper, the list goes on.
